Target Tiles, the online retailer of tiles and consumables established in 2006, has launched a new transactional website in November.
The company says that the requirement for a new website comes on the back of very strong growth currently, with online sales up 37% in the past year.
“Online is the way the current generation of consumers want to purchase their products,” says Managing Director, Jack Rutter. “You have to be prepared to adapt in this business, and we’ve been doing that ever since we spotted the opportunity and launched our online business 13 years ago. Now we have to adapt again to ensure we offer the type of online experience that customers are looking for. As an independent company I think we can do that successfully.”
The new site is highly consumer focussed, with roomsets and lots of aspirational lifestyle photography. It is designed to be easy to navigate and features an online brochure and calculators for adhesives and consumables.
The new site is the result of four months work at the company and has been made possible by investment which follows hard on the heels of significant investment in other aspects of the business, such as new sales offices and new management systems, including the adoption of the Intact IQ resource planning system.
With a product range comprising 10,000sq m of tiles in stock, Target Tiles is one of the largest independent online tile retailers in the UK. The company stocks tile brands from Italy and Spain, as well as the UK, along with adhesives, chemicals and tools from most of the major brands.
“With a heritage going back 35 years in the tiling business, we believe we understand this industry, so we are confident that our new site meets the requirements of today’s consumer,” says Jack Rutter. “We have always tended to be quite a private company, but we understand that we need to embrace change in order to keep moving forward. We do feel that we have now reached a point at which we need to shout a little bit.”
