How did you get into the tiling industry?
I previously worked as a labourer on a construction site, then I was given the opportunity to assist a tiler. I enjoyed the work and learned it quite quickly.
Why did you become a member of The Tile Association?
Curiosity.
What region do you work in?
North West.
What types of installations do you provide?
Any size tiles from micro mosaic to extra large slabs of 1600mmx3200mm. I also install natural stone.
What changes have you experienced since becoming a Master Tile Fixer?
Perhaps a little wiser, maybe.
What tiling project are you most proud of?
I am proud of all the work and projects I have been involved in, so it is hard to pick one.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learnt on the job?
Take care of your self.
What is the best advice you have been told or would like to share for those entering the industry?
Don’t rush, take your time.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Spend time with my kids and play golf.
What do you like most about your job?
The challenge becomes more rewarding as its complexity increases.
