BEWI SUPPORTS CHORLEY HEDGEHOG RESCUE

BEWI Insulation & Construction UK is always looking for ways to ‘give back’, especially when it comes to supporting environmental projects.

The company’s latest initiative has been to provide insulation for the premises of Chorley Hedgehog Rescue. Recently Scott Hatton and Jess West from the Wigan office were busy installing Jackodur® Insulation and Jackoboard® boards at the Centre to help keep the hedgehogs warm and safe during the cold winter months.

Hedgehogs are now unfortunately at risk of extinction in the UK and Chorley Hedgehog Rescue, established ten years ago, rescues and rehabilitates wild hedgehogs that are sick, injured or orphaned and releases them back into the wild when healthy, with the aim of increasing the population of the animals in Chorley and Lancashire.

“We heard the shout for help from the lovely volunteers at the Centre loud and clear,” says Jess West, “and we were only too happy to roll up our sleeves and get stuck in, helping the hedgehogs benefit from the amazing insulation properties of Jackoboard® and Jackodur®.”

MKM Building Supplies were also involved and supplied loft insulation. All involved are confident that the hedgehogs are now hibernating in a warm and cosy rescue Centre.
