The results are in! After 17 Regional Qualifiers, 1,100+ competitors and months of fierce competition, the SkillBuild 2026 finalists have been announced.
These talented apprentices and trainees have demonstrated exceptional technical skill, determination and attention to detail to earn their place at the UK’s most prestigious construction skills competition.
The finalists of the Wall and Floor Tiling category are:
- Ashton Webber – Leeds College of Building
- Pearse McDonnell – Southern Regional College
- Jay Armstrong – North West Regional College
- Joseph Mort – Preston college
- Kristopher McIlrath – Southern Regional College
- Jack Rogers – North West Regional College
- Tom Bewick – Leeds College of Building
- Alan Holubowicz – Southern Regional College
Over two days, these finalists will complete a set task in their trade, judged to the highest standard, to determine the best construction trainee in the UK in each discipline.
The National Final takes place on 18th–19th November 2026 at Arena MK in Milton Keynes.
The National Final is completely free to attend and open to everyone – whether you’re cheering on a finalist, looking to inspire the next generation, or just want to see what a career in construction can really look like. Alongside the main competition, visitors can explore the Construction Showcase, complete with hands-on challenges, interactive activities and opportunities to try construction skills for themselves.
