UltraTile products have been used to outstanding effect on a high-end private residential swimming pool project, completed by A&L Tiling Ltd., owned and operated by Adrian O’Clements.
Adrian, a proud member of The Tile Association and an UltraTiler, was appointed to carry out the installation of a 200sqm indoor swimming pool surround, featuring 600mm x free length limestone tiles. The project combined technical precision with bespoke detailing, resulting in a luxurious and cohesive finish through the space.
To ensure long-term performance in the demanding poolside environment, Shlüter®-DITRA matting was installed around the indoor swimming pool prior to tiling. UltraTile ProGrip FX fibre reinforced semi-rapid tile adhesive was then used to fix the limestone, providing excellent adhesion and reliability.
ProGrip FX is a fibre-reinforced, single part, semi-rapid adhesive, purpose built for demanding tasks. Grouting was completed using UltraTile ProGrout Epoxy in Jasmine, delivering both durability and a clean, refined aesthetic. ProGrout Epoxy is a water-based epoxy resin grout for waterproof, stain-resistant grouting of porcelain tiles, ceramics and glass mosaics. Suitable for wall and floor tiling in environments where hygiene is key, ProGrout Epoxy is destined to revolutionise your grouting requirements.
UltraTile ProClean Tile & Grout Sealer was applied to protect the natural stone, while ProSealer silicone in Jasmine was used to achieve a seamless finish.
In addition to the pool surround, the limestone tiles were installed to form a long seating bench and integrated storage shelves, enhancing both the functionality and visual appeal of the space. The scope of works also extended to the tiling of a steam room, including both walls and ceiling, as well as a striking feature shower wall, all finished in matching limestone for design continuity.
As the project progressed, further bespoke elements were introduced at the homeowner’s request. These included cutting down the limestone tiles to create custom architraves around doorways, adding a unique, tailored touch and reinforcing the cohesive scheme throughout the property.
