TILEMASTER FIXES AT THE FITZ FOR PENRITH TILE CENTRE

Published 30th August 2017 / Featured

A Tilemaster fixing system has been specified by Penrith Tile Centre at The Fitz in Cockermouth, Cumbria. The extensive hotel installation, which was project managed and designed by Penrith Tiles’ John Williams, includes Italian porcelain, mosaics and encaustics. All finishes were installed by Paul Burkett Construction, using Tilemaster adhesives, grouts and matching silicones.

Located on the edge of the Lake District, The Fitz is a privately-owned Grade II listed Georgina mansion surrounded by woodland and rolling hills. The refurbishment project, by Penrith Tile Centre, includes hallways, cloakrooms and bathrooms, where design-led wall and floor tiles have been chosen to create a wow factor. The specification includes Carrara White large format porcelain tiles, decors and listellos, from Marshalls Tile and Stone Interiors; large format beige porcelain from Stokes, and mosaics and mono-toned encaustics.

During the installation, Tilemaster’s highly flexible Ultimate Adhesive was used to install tiles over Dural CI++ Decoupling membrane. Surfaces were then given an initial clean with Fila solutions and the installation was completed with Tilemaster’s Grout 3000 – which has a flexible, water-resistant and mould-resistant formula – and matching Tilemaster silicones.
