The Tile Association’s Master Tile Fixer certification scheme was introduced to support TTA’s vision to ‘raise tile and tiling standards and enhance installation expertise and craftmanship’. The scheme certifies highly experienced and skilled independent tile fixers with the aim of promoting best practice and encouraging existing tiling professionals to strive for excellence.

Shane Collins of Harbour Design Interiors Ltd
Shane is the founder and Managing Director of Harbour Designer Interior Ltd, specialising in domestic and commercial tiling as well as interior renovations. He has achieved the City & Guilds Construction (Level 3) – Wall and Floor Tiling qualification and is a CSCS Gold card holder.

Harbour Designer Interiors Ltd is a well-established bathroom, stone and tile installation company based in the Lake District and Cumbria, priding itself on client communication, satisfaction and exceptional standard of work. The company was a TTA Award finalist in 2022 and 2023, winning Highly Commended in 2022.
Nicolae Chelaru of NMC Supreme Tile Ltd
Nicolae, or Mario as his friends call him, has mastered a wide range of techniques and materials as a result of dedication to his craft. He was recently a finalist for Tile Fixer of the Year at TTA Awards 2024.

NMC aims to deliver top tiling services, operating around the Blackpool area. From exquisite bathroom designs in London to expansive commercial flooring in Manchester, his projects have stretched to all sizes and complexities across the UK. The company specialises in ceramic tiling, porcelain, mosaics, marble, glass and other natural stones which have seen increasing popularity.
Ashley Hall of Niche Tiling Ltd
Ashley’s tiling career started at 16 years olds on an NVQ apprenticeship, working primarily on new build sites around the country. Since then, continuous expansion of skills and knowledge and a willingness to learn with the industry’s best has enabled him to become a director of his own company.

Niche Tiling Ltd specialises in the fitting of large format tiles, going as large as 3.2 metres. Tile fixer and Niche Tiling Ltd employee Kye Pidd was recently a finalist at TTA Awards 2024, supporting the company to deliver ‘amazing work for high end clients in challenging circumstances’.

To be eligible to apply for TTA Master Tile Fixer certification you will need to meet the following criteria:
- You are an existing TTA Independent Tile Fixer member
- Your primary role is a tiler
- You will need to successfully complete an online skills and knowledge test
- You will be audited by a member of TTA Training Committee along with 2 customer references from the past 12 months
Following successful application, members will be reviewed annually and will need to complete a 3 year refresher course based around technical and training questions.
