Congratulations to Alison Bold of Tiles UK for winning the 2025 Outstanding Contribution Award!
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of The Tile Association, this Award is a timely reminder of Alison Bold’s highly significant role in the history of the formation of The Tile Association.
25 years ago, The Tile Association was founded – a milestone to be celebrated! Back then, Alison steered the amalgamation of the National Master Tile Fixers’ Association, the National Tile Association, the Tile Promotion Board and the British Ceramic Tile Council to form a unified association to represent every sector of the UK tiling industry with one voice. In her newly formed role as the first Chair of The Tile Association, she laid the cornerstone for its long commitment to building excellence in production, tiling and the tiled environment. The Tile Association’s many achievements would not have been possible without her hard work, dedication and commitment. Her leadership not only set an example for all in the tiling sector but is a testament to her strength and perseverance in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
Alison’s family has been in the tiling business for many years. Her father, Leslie Bold, founded Tiles UK Ltd, then known as The Manchester Wall and Flooring Company, in 1947. Since that time, the family-owned business has grown to be a well-known, successful UK tile distributor and retailer. Alison grew up involved in aspects of the business, with her earliest memory from the age of two of visiting her father’s then small tile shop. She has been instrumental in building it to be a leading British independent tile distributor and retailer based in the North West.
Thank you Alison Bold for your outstanding contribution.
