We are sad to report the recent death of Jane Seymour, aged 44. Well–known and well-liked in the industry, Jane latterly worked as specification manager for Porcelanosa and Mosa.
Paying tribute, Damian Hunter, UK sales director for Mosa UK, said: “Jane was a very hard working and ambitious young lady. She helped Mosa set up their London showroom in Clerkenwell, where she was employed as the showroom manager. I was lucky to work with her on a day-to-day basis and she was always willing to help and keen to grow Mosa UK. A great person in work and also great fun to be around after work hours.
“RIP Jane, it was a pleasure to work with you.”
For many years Jane worked for BASF, as project specification manager for the PCI brand.
For over five years she was part of a close-knit team at BASF, before being made redundant five years ago when BASF withdrew PCI from the UK. She also worked for Kirkstone, suppliers of natural stone.
Former colleagues Michelle Costigan and Michael Hailwood remember her as highly capable, hardworking and hugely talented and imaginative. Her interior design degree gave a different dimension to the world of sand and cement. “She always gave everything 110%,” says Michelle. “I knew Jane personally and as a dear friend and this has been a complete shock. She was inspirational, confident, passionate and above all, good company.”
Michael comments: “I remember her telling me off the very first time I met her, and then soon after I employed her!! She always called me ‘Boss’ but I was often left in doubt as to who was really calling the shots! She was one of my three ‘Golden Girls’ and I will be forever immensely proud of having led the team that Jane was an integral part of. Jane was and is special and I can speak for all at BASF who knew her that she will be treasured and sorely missed.”
Jane had been involved in many tiling specifications around the London area, and frequently took responsibility for major high profile projects, working closely with the architects on the technical aspects of a project.
Jane will be sadly missed by her many colleagues in the industry.
