Further dates have been added in the New Year to enable fixers to obtain their NVQ Level 2 via the EWPA Assessment. Funding secured by the TTA from the CITB is making this training possible for the wall and floor tiling sector across the UK, supporting quality assured assessment of experienced operatives to NVQ L2. Part funding is also available for NVQ EWPAR/OSAT training, which will help fixers obtain their CSCS cards.
There are limited places available on the last date of the year, 14th December. The new dates announced for 2018 are:
January in Stoke-on-Trent: 2nd, 9th, 11th, 16th and 18th
February in Bristol: contact the TTA for dates
March in Stoke-on-Trent: 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th and 29th
The training comprises a one-day course at either location. Additional costs apply for Bristol. Assessors can also carry out on-site assessments, for which additional charges apply.
The training costs £500 for TTA members per fixer and £600 for non-members. There is also a £68 registration fee payable to CITB. On successful completion of the course, candidates receive a £210 refund on the fee. Independent Fixers can claim £100 refund if they join TTA prior to the completion of the Assessment.
This initiative will benefit the industry by promoting and supporting a skilled and qualified workforce, which will stimulate the market by providing a route to qualification for experienced fixers.
