Palace Chemicals has opened its new Skills Hub at its factory and head office in Liverpool. The facility is now running its first training sessions, together with industry partners such as Tilers Community and a range of major brands from the tiling sector who are generously donating their time and product to the project.
Palace believes it is important to extend its commitment to training for its customers, its own staff and the wider tiling and flooring sector at this time when some of the established routes to training are becoming more difficult to access. As a brand leader, the company believes that suppliers need to step up in the present situation and create their own bespoke programmes, along with the necessary facilities to enable them to deliver training to the tile and stone sector.
The resources now available from the new Skills Hub have been developed both internally and by working alongside multiple industry partners. In this way, the company continues to deliver educational courses which promote best practice in the industry for both new and experienced trade professionals, as it has done for many years in various formats. Having the new Skills Hub facility enables the company to focus its resources and deliver the most up-to-date training possible to ensure the project is carried out to the correct installation and standards requirements.

Palace views its Skills Hub as a resource not just for demonstrating Palace products and providing training in their correct use, but as a centre of excellence for the entire industry.
Customers who visit the facility have the opportunity to learn from a team who are able to draw on the 45+ years of hands-on experience which exists within the business.
Palace Chemicals also now has two RIBA-approved CPD presentations available. One is on the ‘Successful Specification of Wall and Floor Tiling and How to Avoid Common Failures’, while the other covers the topic of ‘Large Format Tiling’. These have been developed for architects, specifiers and large contractors, to provide important information for customers in the tiling sector, especially those who need to keep their CPD qualifications up to date.
