Domus Group has announced a management-led buyout of its company, achieving independent ownership under the newly established Domus Group London Ltd.
Domus Group was previously a subsidiary of Headlam Group, which recently entered administration, cancelling its market listing and announcing the sale of its Thatcham distribution centre, operational assets and inventory, and principal intellectual property – alongside the brands Crucial Trading and Concept Flooring – to another flooring distributor, Likewise Group, for an aggregate sum of £14.9 million plus VAT.
However, Headlam Group’s other subsidiaries – including Domus, Melrose and CECO – were unaffected by this process and continued to operate as normal. Domus Group’s management-led buyout reinforces this distinction and further strengthens its independence in the market.
Jon Newey, CEO of Domus, says: ‘For our founders and senior leadership team, who have been part of the Domus story for over 25 years, this marks an important moment and an opportunity to shape the next chapter of the business.
‘While our ownership has changed, our commitment remains the same: to support architects, designers and our wider client community with personal service, carefully selected products and the expertise built over many years. We recognise the increasing commercial pressures facing projects and remain focused on offering the right balance of design, quality and value.
‘Looking ahead, we’ll continue to invest in our collections, showrooms and digital experience, making it easier to discover, specify and source tiles and engineered flooring for projects of every scale.
‘Above all, we want to thank our team, customers and supplier partners. The relationships we’ve built together are at the heart of Domus, and we’re grateful for your continued trust and support.
‘We look forward to building the next chapter together.’
