BRITISH CERAMIC TILE INTRODUCES NEW RANGES – CONGLOMERATE AND SMOKESTACK

With the terrazzo trend influencing Britain’s homes, British Ceramic Tile has unveiled a striking new ceramic tile collection – Conglomerate.

Visually intriguing, yet highly versatile, Conglomerate brings a sense of natural decoration to walls and floors blending an intricate terrazzo-inspired print with a contemporary grey colour palette.

Available in a white and mid grey 25x50cm wall tile, Conglomerate features an added lustre to highlight the surface pattern bringing a gentle shimmer to walls. When it comes to the floor, the collection offers a coordinating dark grey and white 33x33cm tile and a striking 33x33cm feature floor tile, all of which make an impact.

With its angular pattern and creative design, the new feature floor tile takes a traditional terrazzo look and turns it on its head for a 21st century adaptation. A pattern featuring a series of strong graphical shapes, the tile combines shades of white and grey into one design for a patterned floor with a difference.

British Ceramic Tile’s head of retail marketing and brand, Jayne Adamson, explains: “It’s clear to see that terrazzo designs are in demand, with consumers bringing the look into their homes through floors, walls, cabinets and sanitaryware. These intricate mosaic-inspired designs offer an interesting alternative to granite, marble and concrete for a more handmade, artisan look.

“Our new range has two options to appeal to different consumers in store; a more pared back terrazzo and a confident feature tile. They work together beautifully, or can be used individually if customers are looking to focus on a certain area such as a feature floor in a bathroom.”

Meanwhile to celebrate the rising popularity of concrete, BCT is also introducing a striking new grey concrete-effect ceramic tile, suitable for use on both walls and floors. Called Smokestack, it is created using high definition technology, Smokestack replicates the raw, earthy qualities of concrete on a ceramic tile for a surface with an industrial edge.

Available in a 50x50cm size with a matt finish, Smokestack delivers texture in abundance, bringing an unrivalled tactile quality to surfaces. The look is natural, reclaimed and industrial with the textured finish recreating the same look and feel of natural stone, but on a ceramic tile. Waterproof, hardwearing and easy to install on walls or floors, Smokestack is a cost effective choice that delivers as much in style as it does in substance.

Jayne Adamson says: “This new collection delivers multiple selling points in one feature tile. Not only is it suitable for walls and floors making it multi purpose, it taps into the rising popularity for concrete as a surface material.

“Consumers are very trend-aware, constantly seeking inspiration from lifestyle sources when it comes to updating their homes. We find our retailers want to be ahead of the curve, selling ranges that they know will answer the needs of their customers. Stone effects are always in high demand but with the industrial vibe going nowhere and surfaces becoming more weathered, retailers need a constant supply of new introductions to cast their net wide and appeal to all tastes.”
