Congratulations to Craven Dunnill & Co Ltd for winning the Best Heritage Project 2026 TTA Award for their project Blandford Corn Exchange, Blandford Town Forum!
Blandford Town Forum’s Corn Exchange is a fine example of how a sympathetic restoration of an original tiled scheme can be brought back to life through accurate matching of existing tiles, whilst allowing for as much of the existing scheme to remain in place as possible.
Traditional skills were adopted for mould carving and hand decoration to ensure a subtle difference was achieved in every replacement tile, echoing those within the original scheme. Coupled with expert installation, the replacement tiles blend harmoniously with the originals, bringing this beautiful building back to its original grandeur.
Craven Dunnill & Co Ltd was formed in 1872 with a manufacturing background which began at the Jackfield Tile Factory in Ironbridge, Shropshire.
