Marking a significant milestone in its 49 year history, Armatile, a leading specialist in the design and manufacture of bespoke tile designs and finishes, officially opened its brand new, 15,000sq ft showroom in Baldoyle, Dublin on February 15th.
Over €4 million has been invested in the acquisition and fit-out of the impressive purpose-built showroom in Baldoyle Industrial Estate, which was meticulously designed by award-winning designer, Garry Cohn. The showroom boasts a state-of-the-art design library that features an extensive array of tile samples that showcase the versatility and quality that define Armatile products.
Operating since 1975, Armatile is a family-owned business that employs almost 100 people across: its existing retail showrooms in Armagh, Belfast and Newry; its bespoke tile manufacturing facilities in Armagh; a dedicated Contracts Team delivering tiling solutions to a wide range of commercial, restoration and retail fitout projects; and now, the new Dublin showroom. Further job creation is expected in the next 3 to 4 years.
Having developed a reputation as one of the leading suppliers for architectural and interior design tiling solutions throughout Ireland and the UK, Armatile’s expansion to the Republic of Ireland not only signifies the company’s commitment to growth, but also reflects its dedication to providing a tailored experience for both the residential and commercial markets, showcasing the latest in tile design excellence.
Speaking at the official opening, Armatile Founder and Chairman, Seamus McCann explained: “Our new facility provides tangible evidence of our long-term confidence in the Irish marketplace. We have supplied Armatile products to many projects across the Republic of Ireland over the years, and a Dublin expansion has been in our plans for some time. We were simply waiting to find the right premises in the right location, allowing for easy access from across the country.
“Our vision was to make this new showroom amongst the best in Europe in terms of design and visitor experience, where customers will be taken on a journey through a myriad of different interior design and external landscaping options, from format tiles to authentic wood effect tiles, and landscape transforming porcelain paving.”
In the early 2000s, Armatile invested in its manufacturing and fabrication facility in Armagh that has enabled it to design and create its bespoke and award-winning tile surface solutions using waterjet cutting technology, laser etching technologies, and artisan mosaic assembling, to create customised surfaces which have been used extensively by designers, architects, contractors and fit-out specialists on numerous international projects in countries including Dubai, France, USA, Canada, Nigeria, Switzerland, Australia, and Russia, as well as throughout the UK and Ireland.
Guests of Honour at the event included Ireland and Ulster Rugby Legend, Rory Best OBE and Mayor of Fingal County Council, Adrian Henchy, with MC Garry Cohn leading invited guests through the afternoon’s proceedings on February 15th. Armatile Dublin is located at Unit 105, Grange Way, Baldoyle Industrial Estate, Dublin 13, D13 F584 and further information is available from www.armatile.com.
