The SkillBuild Regional Qualifiers for 2024 are now complete, following three months of heats across the UK from April to June. The construction trainees and apprentices have been scored for each Regional Qualifier, and you can now view the results of the top 3 scoring competitors for each trade category.
These scores are quality assured and moderated by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). The rounds are judged by leading industry experts, which for the wall and floor tiling category includes Chair of TTA Training Committee David Rowley and TTA Technical & Training Manager Martin Pouncey.
The overall marks for each trade category will now be collated. The eight highest-scoring competitors in each specialist skill go through to the next round – the SkillBuild National Final.
This three-day competition final will be returning to the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 19th to Thursday 21st November. Trainees and apprentices will be challenged to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, as well as their ability to work under pressure, ensuring they adhere to health and safety protocols. The National Final is well-known and well-loved in the industry – last year attracting around 1,000 visitors.
SkillBuild is backed by a list of sponsors and supporters including for the tiling industry: Building Adhesives Ltd, N&C Nicobond, Schlüter-Systems, The Tile Association and Weber.
