Tilemaster Adhesives has launched Magix – a new, revolutionary high yield wall and floor tile adhesive. Developed to offer exceptional workability, Magix’s high yield formulation gives coverage equivalent to a traditional 20kg bag of sand/cement based tile adhesive from a 10kg bag, doubling coverage rates.
Available in both white and grey, Tilemaster Magix is offered in two different formats: Tilemaster Magix-R is a rapid-setting formulation which allows for light foot traffic and grouting after three hours, whilst Tilemaster Magix-S is a standard-setting adhesive for longer working times, with an extended pot-life of 3-4 hours and a 16-hour set time for ‘next day’ grouting. Both formulations are S1 classified and suitable for fixing a wide variety of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaics, to solid substrates and substrates with limited movement and/or vibration such as plywood overlay to underfloor heating systems. Both adhesives can be used internally and externally, are unaffected by frost after setting, and are also suitable for areas subjected to prolonged wet conditions, including showers, wet rooms and swimming pools.
As well as exceptional workability, Tilemaster Magix also offers unrivalled slip-resistance properties; this allows for large format tiles to be applied to wall substrates without the need for battens, whilst still providing adjustment time for levelling up rows of tiles once installed. Both formulations also offer exceptional wetting-out properties, making them ideal for natural stone and large format installations where achieving full coverage across the back of the tile is imperative.
Other practical Magix benefits include a 50% reduction in weight, huge advantages in mixing times, compact storage solutions and easier handling for both retailers and installers. High yield properties also result in a reduction in carbon footprint, as more product can be supplied at the same transportation volume. This, combined with the formulations’ recycled content, provides additional environmental benefits.
