Saint-Gobain Weber has appointed four new applications managers to support applicators and specialist contractors with projects across the UK.
Two of these applications managers, Steven Eggleton and Curtis Johnston, are entirely new to Weber, but Linda Twidale and Stuart Owen join the applications team from Weber’s Technical Academy.
Steven joins Weber with more than 20 years’ experience as a plasterer and property developer, as well as lecturer and course leader for plastering and brickwork at Barnsley College. He will be using his knowledge to work with contractors and applicators in the north.
Curtis also joins Weber as a past plasterer and has taken part in multiple competitions through SkillBuild and WorldSkills, reaching the finals in 2019. While no longer competing, he is now a judge for Skill Build UK. As part of his role at Weber, Curtis will be supporting contractors and applicators in Ireland.
Linda has worked at Weber for more than 17 years, including roles as technical advisor and academy trainer, and previously worked as a tiler. She will now be working with applicators and contractors in the east to help with best practice application and onsite support.
Stuart takes on a slightly different role managing major client demonstrations, offering live application demos to promote new products, technology and techniques to the market. He has been a part of the Flitwick Technical Academy training team for four years, using his plastering experience to provide additional support on site when needed.
Paul Roberts, national technical support manager, said:
“Growing the applications team allows us to provide even more technical support to applicators and specialist contractors who want to deliver high quality projects in line with best practice methods.
“All of the applications managers have a trades background, so truly understand the difficulties that may be encountered and the areas where mistakes are often made on-site. This makes them best placed to offer practical advice and help our customers to navigate trickier projects.”
