Project Overview
CJH Tiling Services was commissioned to complete a tiling project across the living room, hallway, and dining room of a private residential property. The total area measured 45sqm, and the chosen finish was Mora Oak wood effect plank tiles. The project was completed in just under three weeks.
Materials Used
To deliver the project, CJH Tiling Services utilised UltraTile ProPrimer, UltraTile ProLevel Two levelling compound, and UltraTile ProFlex SPES adhesive.
Challenges
One of the main challenges on this project was the condition of the living room floor, which was almost 35mm out of level in places. In addition, the client requested that the tiles flow seamlessly across all three rooms, requiring careful preparation to achieve a uniform height and finish.
Process
The project began with the removal of the existing carpet and underlay to reveal the concrete base. Once cleared, Jackoboard was installed and 25 bags of ProLevel Two self-levelling compound were applied to bring the living room floor up to the correct height, ensuring consistency with the adjoining areas.

UltraTile ProLevel Two is a flexible, two-component floor leveller designed to deliver fast, high-quality smoothing on internal floors. It consists of a powdered blend of cement, graded fillers and additives, mixed with a pre-measured polymer liquid. You can walk on it just 2.5 hours after application, and it’s ready for tiling within 24 hours.
With the floor fully prepared, UltraTile ProFlex SPES adhesive was used to fix the Mora Oak plank tiles. The adhesive provided a strong bond and reliable bed for the stunning wood-effect tiles.
ProFlex SPES is a standard set flexible tile adhesive available in both white and grey. ProFlex SPES is an S1 classified adhesive in accordance with EN 12004 and boasts a high level of deformation for greater tolerance to movement. The S1 properties of ProFlex SPES make it an ideal choice for timber and underfloor heating systems.
Outcome
The finished result was a smooth, level, and visually consistent tiled floor spanning the living room, hallway, and dining room. The combination of a high-performance levelling compound and adhesive ensured durability and a professional installation, delivered on time within the agreed three-week schedule.
Contractor Feedback
“UltraTile’s 2-part leveller was easy to use with great flow to cove the living room area. UltraTile ProFlex SPES is my go-to adhesive, providing a great bed for the tiles to fix to with a good yield per bag,” says Curtis Hancock, owner of CJH Tiling Services.
