The SkillBuild National Final – the ultimate stage of the UK’s largest construction skills competition and the event where the most talented trainees from across the country put their skills to the test – have taken place at Arena MK in Milton Keynes. Two days of high-level competition, combined with live skill demonstrations and the chance to see the future of construction in action.
The National Final saw the top scorers from this year’s Regional Qualifiers compete in their respective trades.
The winners in the Wall & Floor Tiling Category were:
- Joseph Burgess of Cardiff & Vale College.
- Sam Durham of ABD Ceramics
- Travis Huntley of Cardiff & Vale College
Many congratulations to them and to all the finalists in this year’s Skillbuild.
Visitors at the event also had the opportunity to experience what working in construction is really like with SkillBuild’s Construction Showcase. David Westwood also hosted a ‘have a go’ demonstration stand on behalf of TTA , helping to educate prospective trainees and apprentices on the benefits of a tiling career.
