BAL – one of the market-leaders for full tiling solutions – has partnered with Topps Tiles and The Tile Association to support National Apprenticeship Week 2025.
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, BAL visited South and City College Birmingham (SSCB) and Leeds College of Building (LCB) to a mark a new partnership between Topps and TTA which will see Topps Tiles sponsoring Level 2 Wall and Floor Tiling apprenticeship schemes.
BAL has a long history of supporting colleges – including SSCB and LCB – that offer wall and floor tiling courses with free BAL Training Adhesive (a unique product that allows trainees to tile as they would on site, but allows the tiles to be reused afterwards to reduce costs and provide a more sustainable approach to training) and support through our nationwide Training and Technical Support Team, providing additional training support and information.
In fact, BAL started producing special Training Adhesive for colleges more than 25 years ago and have continued to support colleges and educational establishments ever since!
BAL Training and Technical Support Managers David Hilton and Gary Haigh visited SSCB and LCB respectively for events at both colleges to highlight all the support and materials that BAL provide to these training establishments.

David and Gary met with tiling apprentices old and new, plus college lecturers and partners from TTA and Topps Tiles.
David Rowley (BAL Training and Technical Support Manager) also attended the Leeds event in his capacity as TTA Board Director and Training Committee Chair.
Lewis Lupton, UK Head of Training, said: “We were delighted to support Topps Tiles and TTA in these two events to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2025.
“BAL is proud to support colleges and independent learning providers delivering wall and floor tiling courses across the UK – as we have for more than 25 years.
“We lead practical hands-on training and provide free training material to support many colleges and training centres around the UK. BAL has always been committed to improving workmanship and developing the professional tilers of tomorrow.”
