#OpenDoors27 aims to enable young people and those looking for a change of career to find out what construction has to offer by going behind the scenes and seeing first-hand the wide range of opportunities available in tiling and other industries.
For 2027, Build UK is introducing a more flexible format and organisations across the UK will be hosting tours of their sites and workplaces throughout March.

‘At my Open Doors visit in 2025, I got to talk to so many different people at the company and I realised quantity surveying was something that I really wanted to do,’ says Molly McErlean, Higher Level Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, OB Construction. ‘They invited me back for a chat afterwards and I’m now working as a Higher Level Apprentice Quantity Surveyor. I helped run our Open Doors events in 2026 and it’s hard to believe what a difference a year makes!’
