The Construction Products Association (CPA) has announced the appointment of Amanda Long as its new Deputy Chief Executive. Amanda will join the Association following the retirement of current Deputy Chief Executive, Jeff May.
Amanda joins the CPA from Construction Product Information Ltd (CCPI) where she served as Chief Executive, bringing more than 25 years of experience in senior executive roles across national and international organisations. Amanda has been involved in the establishment of both the Code for Construction Product Information and the Building a Safer Future Charter, working extensively on consumer protection, product safety, and international policy.
Commenting on the appointment, CPA Chief Executive Peter Caplehorn said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Amanda to the CPA. She brings a wealth of experience from across membership organisations, with a strong track record of delivering value for members and driving growth. Her understanding of how to engage, support and represent a range of memberships will be a significant asset to the Association as we continue to strengthen our work on behalf of the construction products sector.’
Amanda Long said: ‘The CPA does vital work representing and supporting the construction products sector, and I am very much looking forward to building on that strong foundation. I am excited to work with members and stakeholders to continue driving progress on the key issues facing the industry.’
This appointment aims to support the goals set out in CPA’s recently published biennal report. This includes prioritising progress on the digitalisation of the planning and building control systems, in addition to continued focus on areas such as Net Zero and a circular economy, building safety, future skills, health and wellbeing, and information management.
