Congratulations to Kay Porter, CEO of The Tile Association (TTA), for being named in the 2026 Women in Trade Associations Powerlist, as recently announced to coincide with International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March.
Unveiled through collaboration between the Trade Association Forum, the Confederation of British Industry, and the Federation of Small Businesses, the list recognises 100 inspirational women whose leadership and dedication are helping to shape the future of trade associations.
Kay has been recognised for her work representing TTA – where she progressed from Company Secretary to CEO – serving as a united voice for the UK tiling sector. Kay also owns her own successful marketing communications agency, Smart Marketing Works, who provide the secretariat function and day-to-day running of the Association.
Within the broader construction sector Kay has been an influential voice. She held a director position within Build UK for a number of years and regularly attends Construction Leadership Council sector calls, representing TTA and advocating on issues vital to the industry. Her contributions earned her the Freedom of the City of London and in turn the prestigious status of Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers.
During Kay’s tenure, TTA has become one of the most dynamic and influential trade associations in the construction sector with a strong board of Directors all focused on strategic growth – membership representation, technical expertise, craftsmanship, training, and the promotion of tiles to a wide external audience in the UK and abroad.
