Westwoods Tiling have completed an impressive domestic tiling project spanning an expansive 224sqm, showcasing the craftsmanship of TTA Master Tile Fixer, David Westwood. The installation, carried out across a full ground floor and six luxurious bathrooms, demonstrates the exceptional results achievable when expert skills meet high-performance UltraTile materials.
The property’s substrate consisted of wet underfloor heating laid over anhydrite screed, alongside areas of plasterboard – demanding precise preparation and product selection. To ensure a flawless foundation, Westwoods Tiling utilised UltraTile ProPrimer, followed by ProAqua Shield tanking kit in all required areas.
The UltraTile ProAqua Shield tanking kit offers truly efficient waterproofing with just a single-coat application – no priming required – and allows tiling to begin in as little as 90 minutes, making it exceptionally fast and easy to use.
Designed for versatility and durability, ProAqua Shield performs equally well on both walls and floors across bathrooms, wetrooms, kitchens and commercial settings – providing robust protection across various substrates.
A combination of ProFlex SP grey adhesive and ProFlex SPES white adhesive was used to fix both porcelain and ceramic tiles throughout the home. The ground floor alone featured 145sqm of 900 x 600mm tiles across the hallways, kitchen/dining area, utility, boot room, pantry, toilet and shower room. The six bathrooms were each individually designed using various large-format tiles, adding visual variety while maintaining technical excellence.
ProFlex SPES is a standard set flexible tile adhesive available in both white and grey. ProFlex SPES is an S1 classified adhesive in accordance with EN 12004 and boasts a high level of deformation for greater tolerance to movement. The S1 properties of ProFlex SPES make it an ideal choice for timber and underfloor heating systems.
For finishing, Westwoods Tiling chose UltraTile ProGrout Epoxy in Silver Grey, complemented with matching silicone, delivering a durable, hygienic, and premium finish. ProClean Resin-Off and ProSealer silicone ensured the final surfaces were perfectly refined and protected.
